Christmas Eve.
My house has absolutely no decorations. While I've been somewhat of a scrooge ever since I can remember, I do have the excuse of not having any family here to decorate for.
I shall spend Christmas day doing the same thing I've been doing for the past few weeks, I suppose. Attempting to adjust to this new wand and catching up on work.
Now, if my magical skills would return to their previous level, I'd be a happy person for Christmas. It's amazing how one potion can fuck you up so badly. The healers continually assure me that I will fully recover, and urge patience.
I'm surprised they still suggest patience. After all, they have met me. | | Monday, November 30th, 2009 | | 8:38 pm |

STOP. STEALING. MY. SHIT.
The next time someone takes my journal I will do more than steal an orderly's while he's not looking. I will take something of theirs and see how they like it.
Also, stop the fucking meds that make me pass the fuck out. I have shit to do. I need to be coherent. If I start feeling drowsy again, I will rip the IV out. And no, I will not apologize.
Just curious, are you people keeping my knee fucked up so I can't get up and kick your asses? Because I'll find a way around it.
Oh, and could someone be my favorite person ever and bring my spare wand from the locked drawer in the secret spot in my office that only like, three of you know about? That'd be great. I'd like to bitch at individuals in private rather than en masse.
Oh fuck no. If this son of a bitch thinks I'm taking more of that mind-zapping pain potion he has got another thing coming. | | Sunday, November 1st, 2009 | | 11:20 am |
Fucking hangover. Potter, I blame you. Did you ever figure out that orange?
[Computer document, encrypted for Hallowed only] [Logs on surveillance are written in with timestamps. They appear every minute or so until 12:30 p.m. when the current log simply drops off mid-sentence. The file is obviously still open for editing. Lex never leaves things unfinished and never leaves sensitive material open] | | Wednesday, September 30th, 2009 | | 3:04 pm |

It would appear that I forgot my own birthday. I actually did take Saturday and Sunday off for once--well, I didn't take off but I wasn't in the office--and my birthday was ... Saturday, apparently. The flowers my secretary left are half-wilted since I didn't come to add more water, but I appreciate the sentiment nonetheless. I also appreciate the bottle of bourbon left on my desk even though it isn't as if I'll drink it anytime soon
I'm 28 now.
Hm. Back to work. | | Wednesday, September 9th, 2009 | | 3:58 pm |
The fools make it too easy. The ones who use their brains, they're at least a challenge. The satisfaction of finding the mistake they didn't know they'd made... indescribable. I do so love the hunt.
[Private: Evan Rosier] I think I may have found something you'd enjoy. | | Tuesday, July 14th, 2009 | | 12:48 pm |
[Private: Kaiser/Hallowed] It appears we have a little problem in Naples. Surveillance video has turned up a suspicious gathering in the mixed district of Naples. At first I thought it was perhaps an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, since that is what the sign on the building said, but the nervous behavior of those going in and coming out proved that to be just a cover. I had the place bugged with gypsy wires and, where I could manage it, cameras. It's a quaint little start-up revolutionary group, apparently. Such plans they have. I'm hardly concerned that their "assassinations" will be successfully carried out, I do believe that it is time to deal with them appropriately.
There are fifteen of them. Four women and eleven men. Most are in their twenties or thirties but the apparent leader, upon examination of his file, has been in New Europe for almost forty years.
Anyone fancy a trip to Napoli? [/End private] | | Sunday, July 12th, 2009 | | 5:39 pm |
If you live in London's muggleborn district, you have doubtlessly noticed that there have been a string of home invasions and burglaries. We are confident now that the culprit has been apprehended and dealt with appropriately. If there are any more incidences, please do not hesitate to report.
My antique Smith and Wesson 9mm needs a few more modifications. Does anyone know where I can get a trigger bar assembly for a 1990 model?
[Private: Fenrir] Did you get your face taken care of? Once you're patched up, if you need some stress relief, I'm looking for a sparring partner. Don't know if you'd be interested, but it does give you full clearance to hit me. I'm sure that wouldn't be a completely awful experience. | | Monday, July 6th, 2009 | | 8:51 am |
[Private: Fenrir Greyback] For the full moon tomorrow, I need you to be at my home again by four o'clock in the afternoon so that we can begin to take precautions. [/End Private]
[Private to self] Wolfsbane. He has to take it, but if he refuses, how? Imperius would work but that would require memory altering charms or he would never consider anything resembling trust. Not taking it is simply not an option. The taste is too strong to mix it with anything unless... No, I do not think it would work. Perhaps I need another opinion. [/End Private]
[Private: Teddy Lupin] I have a question for you. Is there any way to alter the flavor of wolfsbane to be less noticable when mixed with something else without altering its effectiveness? [/End Private]
[Private: Colin Creevey] I'm predicting difficulties with Mr. Greyback tomorrow. What, if any, alternatives are there to wolfsbane, are there for the full moon? I'm trying to make like a dozen backup plans here. | | Wednesday, July 1st, 2009 | | 12:12 am |
Private: Colin Creevey I have finished going through the paperwork and files for Fenrir Greyback, and I'm afraid I still require a bit more guidance in the ownership area. It's something I've never done before, and I'd just like some clarification if that's not too much trouble, especially since it seems that he will be a potentially difficult case.
Firstly, is there a limit on how much surveillance I am allowed to put on him, especially if it can be done without his knowledge? Obviously with his senses someone following him would be suspect but it would be easy enough to bug his home. I'm sure there are ethical dilemmas with that particular course of action but I'm far more concerned about the safety of the general public at this turn, and if it turns out I'm just being paranoid and making wrongful judgments, I can always have the extra detail removed.
Also, how often should I have him check in with me? Is there a general rule of thumb on this, or just as-needed?
Should his travel be at all restricted? Obviously he can't go too far within the boundaries of New Europe but...
I'm sure I'm being far too paranoid, but this man is a known murderer and I'm fairly certain this 'complete turnaround' he's acting out over the journals is just that--an act. I won't be made a fool of because of some feigned repentance.
As you're the expert here... your advice would be appreciated.
Thank you, Lex | | Friday, June 26th, 2009 | | 1:16 am |
Too many mochaccinos. I'm so wired that I think my skin is jittery.
That would be a no on sleep tonight. Wonder if I could find some more coffee to brew...
It's dead quiet in here. Wonder if that means Percy's gone home (I hope so, since it's three in the morning), which would mean that no one will try and kidnap me and stop me from finishing up this mountain of files.
There's a naked person on one of the surveillance videos right now, staring up at the camera. Utterly naked. And he is not attractive. Oh, not at all. That is heinously wrong. | | Wednesday, June 17th, 2009 | | 12:01 am |
[Private: Self] After spending a week there, I can still find no proof of a rebellion. My gut says that it's there, somewhere, but I simply cannot spend my entire life wasting energy and time in a single place when there's more pressing work to be done. I've set up extra surveillance in the area though, and I'm damn well going to be keeping an eye on the place. I know something isn't right and after this long, I've learned to trust my instincts. [/End Private]
I forgot who I left in charge of organizing reports and keeping things in order while I was away on business, but once I do figure out just who it was, I'll be sure not to ask for their services again. My files are a complete disaster and there's unfinished paperwork piled on my desk. Not even in a neat stack. Just lumped in the center.
Now if you'll excuse me, it doesn't appear I'll be able to leave the office for at least two weeks while I clean up this rubbish. | | Thursday, May 21st, 2009 | | 1:49 pm |
about your character.Full Name: Aleksandra Dimitrova Lenevski Nicknames: Lex, Lenevski. That's it. Don't call her Alex or Alexa or Alexi or Lexi. Just Lex or her last name. Family: Father: Dimitri Lenevski, age 75, still living Mother: Anna Solis, age 61, still living Brother: Andrei Lenevski, age 32, still living Bloodstatus: Half. Father was pure, mother was half--had a muggle grandmother. Date of Birth: 9.12.1984 Date of Death or Disappearance: 9.12.2011 If Death, How did they die?: She was shot in the head, once, execution-style by members of the Russian Mob syndicate she had been infiltrating for nearly four years. Her cover was blown by a fellow operative. She was tortured before being killed. Age in New Europe: 27 Do they have all their memories?: Yes If they are or did attend Hogwarts, what House were they in?: Gryffindor house C/O 2002 Marital Status: Single Sexual Preference: Straight the nitty gritty.Personality: Lex is a difficult person to read. Years of intense training and undercover work have made her incredibly guarded and emotionally shut-off. She has very little experience with actual relationships, though she can fake one with the best of them. She's incredibly intelligent with a good memory and rarely gets caught in a lie. The problem is she spends so much time thinking that she rarely actually shows her true colors. She doesn't even really know who she is, if it gets right down to it. Beneath all of the careful planning and steely facade, she really is a real person. Little things make her happy. She loves the rain, especially thunderstorms. Her ideal mate would be an older man with similar interests to her own and who isn't intimidated by a woman with strength. She likes people who give her a challenge, who don't put things up front. She has a quick temper but sh is just as good at hiding her anger as she is at hiding who she is. Personal History: Lex was the second child born to the Lenevski family. Her father was a pureblood Russian immigrant and her mother was a halfblood more than ten years his junior who had caught the older man's eye at a society ball. Lex's older brother, Andrei, was the family's true asset. Her father, assured of an heir, decided to dote nonetheless upon his youngest daughter, though not in the way one might expect. From a very young age, Lex (then known as Aleksandra, as her father would not tolerate nicknames) and her brother were both tutored privately. They were raised in a bilingual household, and as a result, despite growing up in England she speaks English with a slight Russian accent. She's also conversational in German, though she's not sure what the purpose behind that one was. She was trained in different arts as a child as well. Dance, music, painting and even combat. Her father had an affinity for muggle weaponry. Having forged papers to serve a stint in the muggle military years before, all of the family had current muggle documentation that allowed them to travel between the worlds.
When her Hogwarts letter came, it was no surprise. Her brother had been sorted into Ravenclaw, but she found herself placed in Gryffindor, which was a slightly awkward fit. Her first and second years at Hogwarts, she felt the effects of the war. She was brought home for private tutoring for most of her second year, a decision made my by her father to keep she and her brother safer. When the battle ended in May 2008, so did the danger. She returned for her third year and made the Quidditch team as a keeper, made Prefect and Head girl later in her school career.
Upon graduation, Lex took a different path from her brother, who had gone straight into the Ministry of Magic to presumably start trying to work his way up to Minister or something equally ambitious. Lex, instead, arranged for paperwork to be drawn up showing that she had graduated from a prep school in the muggle world, applied to a university in the UK, and double-majored in Criminal Justic and Forensic Psychology. When she graduated, she took a position in the newly-formed Serious and Organized Crime Agency. She underwent intense training for a field operative position where she would work undercover WITHIN the Russian mob syndicate operating in the London area.
Less than a year later, she started her new life as a spy. It was intense, becoming someone else, working her way through the ranks of the tightly-knit mob, but she was good at it. She was good at playing the game, good at giving people what htye wanted and good at getting what she wanted from them.
On her twenty-seventh birthday, just shy of four years undercover within the syndicate, things went sour. She was hauled from her car when she pulled into her parking structure, bound, blindfolded, and knocked out. She woke up bound to a chair in a basement that she recognized. A fellow operative working in another area of the syndicate was next to her. She knew he had talked. From the looks of him, she couldn't blame him for it. Unwilling to give up any information more than he had given, Lex was severely beaten and tortured to the point of death. Only then did they put a gun to her head and end it. Physical: For a woman, Lex is imposing. She stands two inches shy of six foot tall and is all lean, sinewy muscle. Her hair is a medium brown and she's always worn it long, though it's usually pulled back and out of the way. She dressed practically and there are always at least three weapons on her person at any given time, not counting her wand. in this new world.Desired Class and Occupation: Hallowed; Intelligence Specialist Alliance: Kaiser Wand: 9 1/2 inch willow, dragon scale core Country of Residence: England other.Third Person Example: (CDJ Links are fine) Lex had spent the morning in the gym, punching on the bags and lifting weights. Some male asshole had come in while she was boxing and challenged her to a match as a joke, laughing over his shoulder at his friends. Smirking, Lex took him up on the offer. She wasn't wearing her uniform, so she supposed he had no way of knowing just who she was. She decided to have a little bit of fun with it.
They made their way into the ring set up nearby and Lex took a moment to adjust her gloves. The other man continued to joke with his friends about fighting a girl before he finally seemed ready for action. When the signal was given, Lex decided to make a game of it. She let him get a few hits in. He was, of course, pulling his punches. Going easy on her because she was a girl.
Then she turned the tables. Right hook. Left cross. Uppercut. Jab. Within seconds she had him backed against the ropes. He was trying desperately to block against her fast, hard hits, hands flying wildly against his face.
She stepped back as if daring him to try again. His friends were laughing. He had to prove himself. "What?" she asked as he wiped some blood from his lip with his forearm. "Not man enough to fight a woman?"
That was the last straw. He launched at her, fists flying, but it only took one punch. A mean right hook caught him on the side of the head. He fell to the mat, knocked out. Smiling, Lex took off her gloves and climbed out of the ring, not a mark on her.
First Person Journal Entry: Today I finished the modifications on the 9mm Smith and Wesson. Muggles, for all their concern with keeping certain types of weapons off the streets, made guns entirely too easy to modify into an automatic. Add on a silencer and you could wipe out an entire room full of people before anyone had a chance to react. It still needs a little more filing on the clip, but that's simple enough thing to do. It shoots like a dream. [Three-times hexed private to self] Surveillance shows suspicious activity in Minsk. It might not be a bad idea to go undercover. I've had my eyes on several individuals. Perhaps it's time to make friends.
